Supervision
Clinical supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists and coach-therapists
Our online or telephone sessions
All ethical counsellors, psychotherapists and coach-therapists attend clinical supervision regularly. It’s an opportunity to review your casework and practice with an experienced practitioner who gets to know you and your client group, who can provide a different perspective or encourage you to explore your work to provide the best possible service to your clients. A good supervisor will support, encourage and challenge you to continue to develop into the counsellor, psychotherapist or coach-therapist you want to be. They will help you reflect on your client work and CPD needs, spot transference and parallel processes, support you to manage your practice effectively and ensure you are working safely and ethically.
The right supervisor for you is someone who you feel comfortable with who will help you support your clients in the best way possible for you, whether you are an experienced therapist or coach-therapist, or you are just starting out.
I usually work with supervisees on an ongoing, monthly basis, but I also offer less regular, flexible supervision and single-session supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists and coach-therapists who need additional supervisory support if and when hormonal issues (e.g. POI or PMDD), menopause, fertility, miscarriage or these in combination with neurodivergence comes into their client work.
Coaching for therapists
I am an EMCC Accredited coach at Senior Practitioner level and I offer coaching to support therapists starting out in private practice or those looking to improve the profitability and success of their practice. If this is of interest to you, please read more about coaching for therapists or contact me so we can arrange an introductory/discovery call.
My therapy experience
I am a BACP Accredited counsellor and supervisor with a private practice focused on supporting clients with menopause, POI, hormone, fertility and women’s issues. My experience as a therapist includes working in a counselling agency supporting a range of presentations including anxiety, depression and relationship issues, and working creatively in secondary education supporting young people aged 14-18. I work integratively, with person-centred therapy, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and CBT in my core training. I have added elements of Solution-Focued Brief Therapy, coaching theory and ACT, amongst other approaches, as I have developed my practice - I love CPD!
My training and CPD includes courses on menopause (International Menopause Society), CBT for menopause (British Menopause Society), an Advanced Diploma in Fertility Counselling (National Fertility Society), Autism (The Autistic Advocate), ADHD, Autism and Neuroaffirming Practice courses (Free2BMe) counselling for eating disorders and disordered eating with neurodivergence (NEDDE) and several shorter CPDs. As a neurodivergent counsellor I have a strong interest in supporting other neurodivergent therapists, and therapists working with neurodivergent clients.
Before training as a counsellor and coach I worked in senior People/HR and resourcing roles within high-growth, tech and product-based start-ups, professional and financial services and media. I understand a high-pressure work environment, and how that can impact fertility, hormone issues and the menopause transition.
Supporting therapists
I am passionate about supporting therapists to thrive. I co-ran the Counsellors’ Staffroom Facebook group of 8,000+ counsellors and psychotherapists for almost 4 years. This involved ethical decision-making, diplomacy and careful balancing of views and opinions on a daily basis, to ensure we maintained a safe and supportive space in line with our antidiscriminatory stance.
In 2023 I co-founded and launched the Counsellors’ Staffroom community platform, an online professional membership space providing personal and professional support, CPD and networking events for counsellors and psychotherapists. I hosted our training, ran support groups, reflective practice groups and networking events for therapists. In 2025 I stepped away from Counsellors’ Staffroom to focus on my therapy, supervision and coaching practices.
